Dr Akshatha Ranganath’s medical career began in India, where she earned her Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) from Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences.

Her dedication to ophthalmology led her to the UK, where she achieved her FRCOphth qualification from the Royal College of Ophthalmologists and completed a Postgraduate Diploma in Medical Education from the University of Sheffield.

From 2012 to 2024, Dr Ranganath undertook comprehensive ophthalmology training within the West Midlands Deanery, including specialist experience in Medical Retina at University Hospital Coventry and Warwickshire.
Her work as a Teaching Fellow at Walsall Hospital NHS Trust deepened her passion for education and mentorship, and she continues to support the next generation of eye specialists.
Dr Ranganath’s approach to patient care is rooted in precision, empathy and clear communication. She believes in helping patients understand their eye health, empowering them to make informed decisions about their treatment.
